Artist Bio
DEBORAH ANDERSON of Durango, Colorado
After two years working for Durango Arts Center coordinating the Durango Autumn Arts Festival held on Second Ave., Deb is now focusing on her own art work . . . kiln-formed glass/fused glass, Torchwork, and Silversmith Jewelry.
Working in the warm glass category, means tools. She is happiest in the cold working arena as that is where the tools can help her shape and perfect her artwork. Her quest is to create fused glass pieces that are pleasing to the eye in unique and original ways. Her fascination with the rich and brilliant qualities of glass inspire her to create abstract pieces with interesting patterns, shapes and colors.
Kiln-forming Instruction received:
Lizbeth Harper: Port Townsend, Washington (Her original mentor)
Jim Weiler: Bullseye Glass, Portland, Oregon, Designing Kiln-formed Pattern Bars
